Rach Tells All
Rachel Stevens pops in for a gossip about her love life
There's been so much speculation about me and my paramours lately I decided to visit my favourite showbiz column 3am to set the record straight.
First off, let me tell you about David Schwimmer from Friends.
I bumped into him at Heathrow last month on my way back from a friend's wedding in Marbella and I was talking to him about going to LA and possibly getting into acting. He said to give him a call when I'm in town. He seems like a really nice guy although we didn't get to speak that much, but he is definitely my type - tall, dark and handsome. The fact that he's rich is a bonus!
Will I give him a call when I get to LA? Maybe.
And perhaps when I'm there I'll bump into Justin Timberlake. How sexy is he? He's someone I'd love to work with, and with any luck I'd be able to get up close and personal with him on our video shoot. Who wouldn't?
As everyone knows, I split up from my boyfriend of three years Jeremy Edwards (ex-Holby City star) back in January.
Now I'm definitely playing the dating game. I've been on a few dates and it's really exciting. I really like going out to new places with people.
I have been seeing quite a bit of Gavin Dein (son of Arsenal vice chairman David Dein) lately - but it's early days yet.
When I was with Jez we used to stay in a lot because we were both really busy and it was nice to spend time alone together at home.
But now I'm, you know, dating, and I'm out with the girls loads. My social life is really busy, which is great.
Sadly I haven't spoken to Jez for a long while, but we're on good terms, which is nice.
I'd like to think we'll stay friends but it's difficult. He's still friends with my friends and vice versa - but break-ups are never easy, are they?
It's like with the S Club gang. Jon texted me a month ago to say hi, but I haven't spoken to the others for a while.
It's difficult. We were close and we spent loads of time together, but it's like any job and at the end of it you have to go your separate ways.
We will always support each other and keep in touch but it will never be like it was in the past.
It took a while to adjust to working without them but I'm loving being a solo artist. I'm really excited about my new single, Some Girls, which came out this week.
I love working with producer Richard X, whose track this is.
"It's fun and edgy and with all the proceeds going to Sport Relief I feel that I'm doing my bit for charity.
on Big Brother..
I'm a huge fan of Big Brother, and I really want Nadia to win - I think she's brilliant, and so feminine! I'm also quite fond of Michelle. But you'll never catch me going on a reality TV show - I can't think of anything worse. A girl needs some privacy!
on puppy love..
It was really funny seeing my ex Jeremy Edwards carrying that tiny dog around in a bag. It's very cute but it's not the sort of pet I thought Jez would go for. I always thought he'd want something a bit more butch - but it's great to see he's so comfortable with his sexuality!
on chart success..
When my last single, Funky Dory, didn't chart very well I was absolutely gutted and it threw me a bit. I had to reassess things. It made me really question why it didn't work - I think it came out too soon after Sweet Dreams My LA Ex, which had done so well. But the second single not working was actually a really good thing for me - it made me think hard about what direction I wanted to go in and made me more determined than ever to succeed.
on dream machines..
I've got a real thing for cars at the moment. I've already got one, but the interior designer I've hired to do out my house has this amazing I really and I want one of those, too! I'd also like a Vespa scooter - I'm going to get one in baby pink so I can bomb down to the shops.
on staying in shape..
Because I'm so small I do have to watch what I eat and my weight does fluctuate quite a bit. I'd never say I was really fat but I do have areas where I put on weight, like my thighs - and I do get love handles. But luckily I burn it off with all my nervous energy. I tried the Atkins Diet but I only lasted a week, I love my carbs too much. Crisps are my downfall, and don't get me started on Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I'm thinking of taking up yoga though - I like the idea of keeping fit without breaking into a sweat!
What a star!
We'd like to say well done to lovely Rachel for overcoming her phobia of lifts. The 26-year-old pop babe suffers from terrible claustrophobia and hasn't been in a lift for TEN years. But she bravely put her fears behind her to come up and see us on the 22nd floor of our Canary Wharf tower.
